REDUCTION: PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER
“Tiwai is a workplace where you can be yourself.”
“Tiwai is the greatest adventure of my life.”
After graduating from the University of the Philippines, Johan had a desire to work overseas and she ended up at NZAS, in 2017, and has found her work incredibly fulfilling and rewarding.
“Tiwai is a great workplace, composed of highly skilled, dedicated, passionate people, who take pride in their everyday work. We work together, solve problems together, we go home safely and produce and deliver a high purity, low carbon aluminium that is essential for human progress”.
“We’ve been continually adapting and innovating to ensure Tiwai is one of the worlds’ most efficient smelters in the world.”
Tiwai has reduced it’s fluoride emissions by more than 13 times, since the dry scrubbers were introduced in 1996. They’ve developed and evolved their collector bars to result in a longer cell life and improved power and current efficiencies.
“Seeing more women around the site is a good feeling”
Female graduate process engineers
Next year there will be three female graduate process engineers. For Johan, more women working in operations at the plant has been a satisfying and refreshing progression to see.
